So what is regeneration? Bricks and mortar, stronger communities, economic well being, or landscaping industrial sites?
This two day event is designed to answer all these questions and more.
We will
• look at the key policies that drive national, regional and local activity,
• explore the key concepts the inform good regeneration practice,
• understand the debate surrounding public realm,
• consider good practice in partnership working,
• design a project using Project Cycle management,
• Understand the importance of appraisal, monitoring and evaluation,
• Explore the challenges of the growth agenda.
The course is aimed at any staff in regeneration seeking an overview of
the field. Past participants have included economic development staff,
partnership managers, police officers, arts officers, private sector
and voluntary sector organisations.
The course is taught in a friendly, participative style with plenty of
opportunities to debate the issues as well as small group work and even
some role play!
The tutors
Eileen Adams and Tim Morton of Engage Associates developed the course
in 2004 and have regularly updated the content to match the changing
face of regeneration over the last few years. In addition to receiving
copies of all course materials each participant is supplied with a
CD-ROM with a wealth of background materials.
